Hello! This is my website! I'm Gizmo, an 18 year old high school Senior who lives in the
United States. I created this site to record my thoughts on various topics, including media
I consume, or just random thoughts that cross my mind. This website isn't commercial. It's just a
place for me to express myself without having to adhere to the rules to an external service. Feel free to get
in contact with any feedback or advice though, especially grammar / spelling issues. A Q&A is below.
Q&A
Question 1: Why does this site look like it's from the 90s?
Answer 1: This site doesn't use any sort of website editor, just basic HTML / CSS.
Since this site is essentially just static text, and it doesn't need to "look appealing" to attract ad
money; it gets the job done just fine. I've considered using Wordpress or other tools, but they're
too complicated and annoying to set up / deal with for an ultra-slim, simple website like this. Making
the site in pure HTML also makes it feel more "personal" in my opinion, since I know I've deliberately put in every
bit of code rather than a program doing most of the work for me.
Question 2: Are the reviews on this site spoiler-free?
Answer 2: No, I write my reviews after completely finishing a series / book / movie / etc and frequently
talk about plot twists, endings, all that kind of stuff. I would highly recommend against reading any reviews
on here if you don't want to be spoiled.
Question 3: Why are there articles dated before this site went online?
Answer 3: I wasn't able to publish this site until a few months after I started making it, so the articles
were written and just sat on my PC until I was able to put the site up later on.
Question 4: Why aren't you writing under your real name?
Answer 4: I don't use my real name to protect my privacy, while I wouldn't say anything here makes me look
bad per se; I don't want every employer / admissions officer seeing essentially my public journal when Googling my
name.
